Julia Hatoum is an engineer, program manager, fashion model, and advocate for women in STEM who proudly represents Delaware.
A first-generation Lebanese American, Julia spent her childhood in Dubai before moving to Delaware at age 12. Growing up in one of the world’s most culturally diverse cities, surrounded by people from more than 100 nationalities, gave her a global perspective and the ability to connect authentically with individuals from all backgrounds.
Julia is a Transmission Engineer and Program Manager at Power Industry Experts in Newark, Delaware, where she oversees the maintenance of electric transmission infrastructure across Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C. Her work helps ensure the reliability and safety of the Mid-Atlantic electric grid, reflecting both her technical expertise and her commitment to serving communities behind the scenes.
A recent graduate of the University of Delaware, Julia earned an Honors Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Distinction, along with minors in Chemistry, Materials Science Engineering, and Civil Engineering. During her time at the university, she served as Student Body President, representing more than 20,000 undergraduate students, and as Controller of the Student Government Allocations Board, overseeing a seven-figure budget supporting student organizations. She also coauthored more than 40 pieces of legislation focused on accessibility, student legal services, faith based accommodations, campus safety, facilities, dining services, sexual assault resources, and mental health initiatives. In recognition of her lasting impact, Julia became the first student formally honored by the University of Delaware Board of Trustees through legislation, establishing a precedent for future student leaders.
As a woman in engineering, Julia is passionate about creating greater opportunities for women and other underrepresented groups in STEM. Through mentorship, social media advocacy, and her work developing a university retention certification program, she is committed to helping more women not only enter technical fields but also feel empowered to remain, lead, and thrive.
Beyond engineering, Julia has built a successful career in fashion modeling, walking at New York Fashion Week and appearing in the first fashion show ever held at the Library of Congress. She believes technical excellence, creativity, and femininity are not competing identities but complementary strengths.
Through every stage she steps onto, whether in engineering, leadership, or fashion, Julia hopes to inspire young women to embrace every part of who they are. She believes beauty and brilliance are never mutually exclusive, and that a meaningful life is built through confidence, service, curiosity, and purpose.

We are pleased to support a wide variety of functions; including our armed forces, youth, local businesses, charities, and other community events. Our titleholders are skilled public speakers with emphasis on education, service and self-value. Miss Delaware USA and Miss Delaware Teen USA are brand ambassadors available for special appearances, autograph sessions, and photo sessions.
Miss Delaware USA & Miss Delaware Teen USA are invited to numerous events throughout the year. We are appreciative of each request to serve the community however; due to high demand, we are unable to meet all requests.
